The case turned out to have several different issues.The team approach was applied by using both a civil engineer and a general contractor with extensive masonry and tile experience as the GEI experts. The first issue was the weather. Everyone agreed that it rained a lot. The question was just how much is “a lot”. |

The call came in that there had been a vehicle fire of unknown origin-would we check it out? Our story begins with the kids telling Dad that there was smoke in the garage. He then ran out to the garage, where their two-year old car was parked, and while it was not in flames, it was smoking dramatically. |

The case involves a two car traffic collision. The insured’s vehicle rear-ended the plaintiff’s vehicle. After the accident, the plaintiff was unable to work and eventually had spinal surgery, which she claimed was the result of a 50 mph collision. Her lawsuit for more than $2 million was for medical costs, and lost future earnings. The process of evaluating her claims required two disciplines. |

This case involves a summertime campground facility built in 1951, and nestled high in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Over the winter, the camp was inaccessible and as the snow melted and the caretakers returned, they noticed an exterior wall in the main building that was bowed in by several inches. Eventually GEI was called in for an examination. |
