Expert of the Month: Jim Rowlands Mr. Rowlands is a Registered Civil and Geotechnical Engineer in the State of California with more than thirty years experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a fellow in the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering, a member of the California Geotechnical Engineers Association, and a member of the Consulting Engineers Association of California.
His expertise in geotechnical engineering covers foundations, slope influences, landslides, subsidence, settlement, expansive soils, excavations, and grading/drainage. His general civil engineering expertise covers planning, design, cost estimating, oversight monitoring, and distresses of structures and foundations. In the area of inspections, he is an expert regarding drilled piles, excavations, and grading for commercial, residential, and industrial facilities. |
