Expert of the Month: Pax Starksen

Our expert of the month is Pax Starksen.  Mr. Starksen is a Registered Mechanical Engineer in California and has more than forty years of engineering experience.   He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles.   His expertise and investigative experience are vast and include most manufacturing techniques, pedestrian hazards, automotive products, industrial products, commercial products, consumer products, fires, explosions, and carbon monoxide poisonings.   Included are: hydraulic seals and gasketing matters, slip/trip and falls, valve failure issues, and control malfunctions. 

He is a Certified XL Tribometrist and a Fellow in the National Academy of Forensic Engineers.   To quantify Mr. Starksen's depth of experience, he has handled over eight hundred pedestrian fall investigations and hundreds of other cases covering a wide range of fires, vehicle issues, machinery malfunctions, and safety-related matters.   His courtroom experience is similarly extensive.

Expert of the Month: Bill Sommers

Mr. William (Bill) Sommers is a Fully Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist (ACTAR #268), a Certified Drug Recognition Expert by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, a Certified Trainer of Drug Recognition Experts by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and is a licensed private investigator.   He is a member of several professional organizations and has more than thirty-five years experience in law enforcement. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Science from Chaffey College in Alta Loma, California.

Mr. Caulfield is a Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California with more than forty years experience in a wide range of related matters. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, San Jose, and a Master of Science Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. His expertise includes residential and commercial construction distress matters, crane failure issues including operations and rigging, and other matters needing a keen sense of investigative ability and analytical skills regarding all kinds of structures.
