Mr. Erwin is a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Certified Motor Vehicle Crash Reconstructionist. He has 18 years of experience with NHTSA as a crash reconstruction analyst with over 1,500 crash reconstructions personally conducted. He has held the position of the primary crash reconstructionist for the NHTSA Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network (CIREN) in the County of San Diego. His expertise for GEI includes speed analysis, Delta V and principle direction of force analysis, occupant kinematics and injury causation, seat belt analysis, and vehicle damage analysis. His specialized training includes Traffic Management and Forensic Collision Investigation at Golden West College and Vertebrate Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a published co-author of six research papers on motor vehicle crash trauma.
